Abby and I went down to the school last week for Character Parade Day--the kids got to pick a favorite book character to dress up as for the day. Andrew chose to be Jack from the Magic Treehouse Books and Emily chose to be Lina from The City of Ember. It was fun because the kids got really creative when picking out the little thing to go along with their costumes. Andrew found a little dog and a cute little backpack to carry him in and Emily made the instructions to leave the city of Ember--she even had me put some well placed holes in it (I told her she could have let Olivia chew on it, you'd have to read the book to understand). Emily also wanted to be a little bit dirty looking but couldn't figure out how to do it without actually rubbing dirt on herself which didn't sound too go to me so we got out some cocoa powder and rubbed some on her. That way she looked dirty but smelled delicious!
